Look under the radar for top performers

The bordeaux market is still “fairly flat” according to Anthony Maxwell, Liv-Ex Trading Director, but several smaller categories in its index of 100 leading wines are performing well.

With no big sales from the leading auction houses in August, the month offers both analysts and investors a chance to reflect on significant trends.

Bordeaux wines, which comprise the majority of the Liv-Ex 100, are responsible for the graph’s fractional decline, and mask the rise in demand for the better-known burgundies as well as the “super Tuscan” wines.
